Some people get their mammograms every year around their birthday. Some people get them in the month of October because it's Breast Cancer Awareness month. I don't care when you get it so long as you get it!!!
Here is a suggestion for those that are nervous, may need some extra support or just an excuse to see friends: Have a Screening Party!
Get your girlfriends and schedule your mammograms all for around the same time (they usually schedule them every 20 min or so). What's better than showing up en masse for your appointments - talk about support! Then, go out afterwards - get lunch, catch a movie or go have a glass of wine - just go celebrate the act of taking a step towards taking care of YOU!
